Bio
Millwall Football Club announced the signing of Michael Obafemi on loan from Burnley until the end of the 2023/24 campaign on Tuesday 23rd January.
The 23-year-old striker became Joe Edwards' second signing of the January transfer window.
The Republic of Ireland international started his career on the south coast with Southampton, making his professional debut with The Saints and going on to earn Premier League experience, as well as Nations League caps with the Emerald Isle.
After establishing himself at St Mary's, Obafemi then made a £1.5m move to Swansea City in August 2021, installing himself as a fans' favourite in South Wales whilst continuing his international career in EURO 2024 qualifying.
A loan move to The Championship's high-flying Burnley was to follow in January 2023, a move which was made permanent by The Clarets that summer after promotion to the Premier League was secured.
Obafemi has appeared twice for Burnley in the top flight in 2023/24 and forms part of Edwards' plans for the remainder of the season.
