Bio
Jake Cooper signed a long-term contract at The Den on 28th July 2017.
The defender initially joined the club on loan from Reading in January 2017, but after impressing and helping The Lions on the way to the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final trophy, Millwall boss Neil Harris opted to bring Jake to the club permanently that summer.
Jake featured 38 times in an encouraging Millwall League season of 2017/18, and went on to become one of Harris' star men the following year as he played every minute of the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship campaign - scoring six goals and claiming six assists from defence.
The end of the season saw Jake's commendable performances scoop his second successive Manager's Young Player of the Year award at The Den.
After playing every minute of a second successive season in 2019/20, an incredible run for the defender came to an end in December 2020 as he missed his first game in 136 matches away to Blackburn Rovers, after suffering a dislocated shoulder during a trip to Birmingham City - remarkably, Cooper played on until the end of the game!
After 46 appearances in 2020/21, the defender appeared a further 46 times in 2021/22, scoring four times - and racking up an incredible feat of every single goal being a matchwinner!
The season of 2022/23 saw Cooper make his 300th appearance for Millwall - and the defender will hope to build on that over the course of 2023/24.
